A couple of items to consider when recruiting from the military:
1) Do you have a structured work environment? My experience has been without a highly structured work environment you will experience a high degree of turnover in the 1st year. If you do have a structured work environment the military is a great resource to find dedicated and highly motivated talent.
2) Do you have a developed onboarding program? Again, experience has proven that a solid onboarding program that spans minimally the first year will ease the transition into the civilian workplace and significantly increase your retention.
