Hi recruiters!

I've just found this site and there are some facinating posts so brilliant! However, I come to this site in the pursuit of specific knowledge - can anyone help?

A bit of background is that I work as an independent in the UK and have done since 2006. Prior to that I worked generalist high street recruitment for bout 6 years. But I am finding that since the economy has changed I am finding the quality of candidates that I get through my former methods (job boards, referrals, general knowledge) is not proving to be strong enough - i need more people and i need to get to the passive candidates.

I am very confident in building relationships with both clients and candidates and find this is no problem I know how to find the jobs, how to establish what drives results in jobs and how to assiss if the person will fit right with the job and work required to be done. So my problem is finding people, pure and simple.

What I really need is a mentor! Someone or a forum ;) that can help me to broaden my knowledge and help me be a better recruiter!

I guess what I really need to know is:
How do I map out who the best talent is in the market?

Look forwared to any responses, thanks.
