I love to write.  When I was about eight years old, I remember writing a song, not very well, mind you, but write it I did - for the guitar.  My composing career didn't last very long but it did lead me to my first real writing love, poetry.  I have written enough to fill several books but most are very personal and, of course, reflect times of trial, joy, love, and hate. Most poetry does, right? Anyway, a book of poetry is probably not in my future.

Poetry laid the foundation for my blogging, though.  I approach a post like I approach a poem.  It must have an introduction that captivates and invites the reader to stay for a bit.  It must have a middle where the reader gets the info I want to share.  Then the end reaches back to the beginning tying it all up, hopefully, in a neat little package.  For me to be satisfied with a post I write, it must flow like poetry.
I have spent the last couple years writing about the recruiting industry and business, in general.  I love that I get to do this.  I appreciate the forum that is RecruitingBlogs.com. I know how lucky I am to have a place like this where I can learn about my industry, connect with others that want the same things I do, but also do a bit of blogging.
The more you write the better you get, If you don't want others to read what you write, then don't share it.  Just think of it as a poem, write about a trial, a joy, something you love or hate.  It doesn't need to change the world.  But it can change how you view it.

I agree with the statement, "The more you write the better you get". I have been blogging for 49 days now. Each day, I write. Each day I feel more confident. I can't imagine what it is like to blog daily for over a year, but I hope to find out.

I can't say for sure if I have gotten better, if the content is more enjoyable, but I can say that I am better at finding errors. So in that regard, I am better.

Thanks for a great post.
I am a new blogger and it took me a long time to even get the courage to put up my first post. Thanks for this, it gives me more inspiration TO BLOG :) Sharon
Rayanne:

Thanks for such a well-written and thoughtful blog. I also appreciated your encouragement to others to get out there and write. What's the saying, "Writers write?" You clearly demonstrate that. I look forward to reading more and possibly writing myself.
