When you do something a million times every year, it becomes second nature. We get comfortable. We use the same 3 questions to qualify. We get in a routine.

It works for now. But if you ask the candidate, which you probably haven’t, they’d tell you that you suck at interviewing.

Yeah, I said it. You suck at interviewing.

Thanks for sharing this ebook!  Getting beneath the surface of the candidate's resume is important to making any informed hiring decision.  The 3 questions proposed are a great way to that.  I will say that I think some kind of uniform interview guide is helpful, especially when you have a lot of managers conducting interviews.  The consistency can be a good way to measure candidates and see where interviewers differ in their evaluations.  I also don't agree with the "is this person someone I want to have a beer with?" position.  While I understand the point is to access someone beyond who they appear to be on paper, I think that question comes across as "do I personally want to hang out with this person" which doesn't apply to most candidates capabilities to be a good fit for a job.
