The iPhone just came out. Are you the type of person who needs to have the latest gadget or do wait for all the bugs to get worked out?

I'm a self admitted technology junkie and to paraphrase Will Rogers I never met a piece of software I didn't like. However, the iPhone is more than just another gadget or phone and represents a true paradigm shift in the mobile user interface.

Have you played with one yet? The second day they were out I stopped by my local Apple store and stood with 20 or other potential buyers playing with the iPhone. The group was 18 guys and two gals, both of whom were looking bored while their spouse or significant other tried to sell them on why this was going to change their lives. Suddenly several of us looked up, looked at each other, and with a sly grin and a knowing nod we all knew we were touching magic.

If you haven't dinked with the phone do it. If your not in awe and say a few ohs and ahs then your in the minority. An incredible tool and something that I can't live without (or so I told my wife in making the sale). :)
No - there is no GPS on it, and you cannot replace the battery yourself, it is sealed in it. Very lame. And, if you have long nails it is difficult to work with, etc..etc..etc...

But hey - I would be interested in reading more posts about those that have one. I think if Apple could come out with a version that is less expensive, has GPS, and doesn't require a degree in computer science or and MCSE to operate, then I would consider it. Maybe.....

But, I should add that the idea of losing my cell phone, music player, and organizer all at the same time doesn't not delight me in the least. I see the iPhone as just electronic bling, hahah. It is lost on me - cast pearls before swine and all that.
Here is a good article on the ups and downs, as it were

I got to play with one this weekend. I want one but I aint willing to cough up that much dinero until the prices come down. Plus, I'd have to wait to switch carriers as I still have a contract.
I am waiting for Iphone to be launched in India, i would make sure i would be the first one to book it for me. I have gone through the spec and the reviews of it , its just awesome.

I am just not sure if AT$T is providing good service or not but Iphone its one type of a phone that i would not miss to use.
Okay I have to admit my genuine love of technology. I loved the gadgetry it presented! I visited a gigantic Apple store on the magnificent mile in Chicago-- way fun. My husband and I have 3 iPods of varying size, style, and fashion. :D

Bill, I had a similar sales pitch justifying my magnificent Palm Treo, and I am just starting to use the bulk of it's functionality. I am not ready to trade up yet-- many of it's add-ons were capitalizing on the network paradigm-- always on, anywhere technology..

I agree with others input that it should have a GPS bundle. Right now it's focus is more entertainment, but it could compete in the marketplace, with communications/navigation functionality.
