Do or Die situation for IT recruitment consultancies in India

Do or Die situation for IT recruitment consultancies in India

Recruitment consultancy business in India is flourishing like anything. Apart from domestic consultancies the international IT recruitment companies have entered into India market for developing there business.

In metro cities almost on every main road you could find a recruitment consultancy. In all of these consultancies there would be hundreds of people working on the IT clients.

According to the one of my sources within a biggie IT company, there are approximate 300 recruitment consultancies (vendors) working for single giant IT company. That makes the ratio of hundreds of recruiters are working on the single requirement. The recruiter who submits the candidates before any other consultancy would be considered,
“first-come, first-serve” situation.

News is also about many of the giant IT companies in India are cutting down there recruitment staff as a part of the cost cutting program.

But do you think that IT recruitment consultancies can survive on the current IT business situations

The current cost cutting strategies of the IT companies in India would not give sufficient requirements for IT consultancies for survival.
IT recruitment consultancies should think out of there verticals and get started with some other domain for there survival.

From the recruiter’s point of view, it won’t be a good idea of getting started with the other domain, as it won’t be comfortable for recruiters to get use to the sudden change in domain.

Should Recruiters move to other domain? What would be the best solution for this situation???
