Position Title: SQL Server Data Base Administrator (Full-time)
Position Description: The candidate will be responsible for administering and developing SQL Server applications and databases, and will work closely with project managers and other technical resources to implement innovative business solutions that support our growing business.
Candidates must have expert-level knowledge and experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005 and 2000 releases, as well as 5+ years of demonstrated database administration experience. This experience must include routine database maintenance (backup, recovery, performance tuning, etc.), as well as expert skill level with T-SQL language, data replication and/or log shipping, and data warehousing modeling and design. Microsoft DBA certification is not required, but will receive preference.
The ideal candidate will also have familiarity with various scripting languages (VBScript, VB.NET, Java, C#), as well as proficiency with Windows O/S and hardware management. In addition, a background including business intelligence experience with well-known platforms such as Business Objects, Crystal, etc. is desired.

Responsibilities:

Performance tuning and resolving databases performance issues (indexing, data partitioning/clustering, updating statistics, etc.)
Provide leadership in date warehousing strategy using SQL Server platform for reporting and data analysis by internal and external users.
Establish backups, maintenance, monitoring, and other daily administration tasks for databases
Establish security and connectivity to the new databases for all inbound and outbound interfaces, e.g. ETL tools, developer tools, application servers, database links, etc
Provide support for the application migration, testing, and database tuning; including interfacing with the application team for problem diagnosis and resolution
Perform routine database maintenance (table modification, modifying stored procedures, views, etc.
Create, configure, backup and recover SQL Server databases.
Maintain and optimize SQL Server transactional replication between multiple corporate sites.
Configure SQL Server platform and hardware for optimal security and performance.
Coordinate with key executives and other non-technical resources to communicate business impact and deliverables from projects/tasks.
Develop standard data base policies and procedures.
Evaluate, create and test backup and recovery strategies and ensure integrity of database backups and restores
Scheduling events such as integrity checks and database optimization
Coordinate/define database security requirement including access authorizations


Qualifications/Skills Required:

5+ years of experience as lead SQL Server database administrator.
Expert knowledge and experience of SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2000 releases, specifically including T-SQL language, backup/recovery/maintenance tasks, transactional replication, and data warehousing.
Understanding of Microsoft DTS
Familiarity with various scripting languages (VBScript, VB.NET, (VBScript, VB.NET, Java, C# )
Solid understanding of Windows O/S, hardware, RDBMS and networking fundamentals.
Experience with LDAP/Windows AD authentication a plus.
Microsoft Certification (MCDBA) a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Solid team player with demonstrated successes in a group environment and ability to lead technical projects in addition to being a technical resource.
Demonstrate strong skills in customer satisfaction.
