Academia and the corporate world

Is it possible to make the transfer from working for a long time in a university to being successful in the corporate world.It seems to be a rare breed who can make it in both camps.

I am looking at this from a British perspective and appreciate things are very different in the USA

We have members who are in this situation - it can be very hard. Both sides look at things differently so you need to learn to repackage yourself. It is all about getting your value across quickly - making it easy for the other side to see how you can stop their pain. Don Orlando is an excellent coach - he has some great insights. I will forward your thread to him and see what he can add.
