I would like to know what some of the challenges are that you experience with finding technology and engineering contractors or consultants. Please be specific as to the tools used, industry and recruitment process when pointing out a challenge.
I general, ya can't generalize among all "contractors" nor "consultants" . . . that said I might start with the appropriate SIC's or NAIC's and do some reverse panning to back ito an initial contact list.
We just launched a network of 119 local freelance job boards that may help you source technology and engineering contractors at both the national and local levels. The umbrella site is www.TheFreelanceNation.com or you can view our individual city sites at www.TheFreelanceNation.com/cities.php. We are ranking incredibly high in the search engines and it is already providing a lot of exposure for both freelancers looking for work and recruiters putting out APBs for specific talent. Please contact me if there is anything or anyone I can help you with.
I'm an engineering recruiter retained by a limited number of firms. When I need recruiters in one of the many areas in engineering (be specific), I recruit junior recruiters directly from target firms. I treat it as a basic search. You'd be suprised of the number of recruiters in this area are looking for contracting positions.
