Like many I’ve thought I had a pretty good idea of how to find candidates on the internet. Google searches, Linkedin, etc. But over time I found my searches coming up with the same people time and again.
A while back I issued a challenge to the big job tweeting services: Let me try out your tools and I’ll post about them. To make a long story short there is one in particular I think you should check out –
JobShouts. While I won’t get into comparing the ones I did use I thought you would want to hear what I learned.
I learned there is a very simple way for your job to get visibility on SimplyHired, Indeed and the other job aggregators. (I think that’s what they’re called.) Jobshouts makes the process simple enough for a regular guy like me.
Before trying it out my mind was made up. It’s ridiculous to pay someone else to tweet for you. I mean – anyone can tweet, right? So why fork over hard earned money
to do something so easy?
Well I’m here to admit I had NO IDEA what I was talking about. Putting the job into the Twitter stream is not the whole story. In fact it’s not even the main theme. It’s all the other places your job goes – places where people are actually searching for opportunities. It’s great to see your
job come up when doing a search on Indeed, Simply Hired, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn and all the other niche sites that are partnered with them. One person simply can not get that kind of
visibility on their own. That’s what Jobshouts does. I can say without a doubt – you will get interest in your positions. The more specific the requirement, though, the more you’ll find yourself sorting through “close, but no cigar” types….but that sure beats no traction at all!
