Anyone out there getting blasted by other "staffing firms" asking you to send them your immediate requirements? lol

Here's an email I just got and continue to get from various "agencies" out there...

I leave all her contact info on there because as an "Account Manager" she should know better and do a little research before sending this email to her competition.  And last time I checked, my industry is a relationship building industry/service not an email blasting service hoping to get something to stick.


Rebecca (if that is your true name) hopefully you see this and learn a valuable lesson because its agencies like Amtex that gives our Industry a bad name.

Ok sounds fair and I guess its a lucrative approach (if there's a large market segment already doing it) but to a certain extent I/we already do that when I "Candidate Market" a specific candidate for a specific opening/need or even if there is no advertised need but just feel they will fit in well my clients environment and tech stack.

And all that being said is the method of email blasting really an effective approach? Isn't this one of the major problems in our industry, the lack of personal interaction...? If I was on the other side of the fence as an employer or client I would laugh and instantly delete it.

It reminds me of agencies/recruiters that blast resumes out hoping they stick somewhere when the candidate has no idea his resume is being farmed out...And don't get me started there...ha!

...just saying...seems counter productive to me.

Yeah, the content is pretty brazen, and it doesn't strike me as part of a sensible marketing strategy, but the way it's written is worse.

Since you enjoyed the your and you're so much. You might enjoy the fact that i have come upon a great truth after i read your response. The reason it's so difficult is because it probably started in Texas where both are pronounced "Yer". So hope yer Friday night is fun and yer closing some next week.

I get these emails all the time... it's the price you pay, I guess.

Once I actually engaged with a firm (let’s call them "Company X" on a pretty unique search, they told me that they had a handful of qualified people in their database, so I asked them to send me a couple resumes. I called both of the people who were sent, and asked them how long they have worked with or known "Company X"... they both responded with the same answer, which was the answer I expected. Neither candidate had worked with "Company X", they were both contacted after a recruiter from "Company X" found their resume on Dice, and neither was qualified for the position.
The new bill just passed is going to put a knot in the knickers of a whole ton of these sleazy ,off shore contractor peddlers and their stable of H1B's. Haven't read the whole thing yet but there is a clause that requires them to have daily supervision of their contractors and raises their costs so the lawsuits are flying.

The ones i hate are the ones who have the candidate send their resume so it appears that they are submitting it as an individual applying for job. When one calls the number they provide one gets one of the boiler room "handlers "who lets you know that he owns the candidate.
Joseph and Sandra...I have experienced both and its so frustrating and such bullshit! I actually got "Rebecca's" email again the next day after posting this on here as well replying back to her original email to let her know I wasn't interested and to remove me...lol...I had to call her and ask her to stop. Funny thing is...(As I knew) her name wasn't really Rebecca! ha

But Sandra your experience is the classic one that I have come across more then I care for...And its shame too because at the end of the day it makes me very hesitant to call any one that isn't a US citizen and obviously that's not good.
I started running a google search on the phone number if it does not show up as the person named on the resume and/or there is no address, it's most often a rubber chicken. I hope the increased costs go into effect fast for these lyin creeps who don't even use their own name on their email. Rebecca indeed.

This is what my friends and I lovingly refer to as the "H1b Slave Trade" - and it has nothing to do with any type of business I/we are in.

See - once they "own" an H1b there is nothing the poor guy/gal can do. They have to stay with the company who has sponsored them which in most cases are these large indentured servant farms who in most cases don't care too much about their "product".

I get calls all the time from consultants who have finished their project and are in desperate need to find work or get sent home. Their "handler" does nothing for them. They have to pay 25% to the house of whatever they can find in terms of work.

It really is a form of slavery. Surprised it doesn't come up much.
