Contracting- Is anyone using an Employer of Record they will recommend?

I have been placing full time candidates for years and am finding my clients need contractors more so these days.  Is anyone out there using an employer of record to W2 and cover payroll?  I would love to hear your recommendations.

I have looked at a couple of them including Top Echelon and another company out of San Diego.  Would really like to know who is using who for this service though if possible!

Thanks!!!

I use ECS and think they're great! They charge a percentage of the pay rate, not the bill rate or spread, and best of all they pay when your contractor gets paid, so you don't have to wait for the client to pay, which is a nice benefit. They make sure the client is credit worthy as well.

Here's their contact info, ask for Ed Kelley

Hi Pam,

You wrote this long ago.  Are you still using ECS?  Pros and Cons?

I need to find a new backoffice/EoR for my contractors.  I used an independent guy out of San Diego.  He scammed me (and many others) out of much $ - ours and our contractors.  So I'm very jaded at the moment.

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

Yes, I do and am still very happy with them! I recommend them to everyone and I did quite a bit of research before going with them. They were recommended to me initially by a friend who was using them and as it turned out they had the best offering for what I wanted. A fixed rate on the pay rate....some other places have you call each time for a quote which seems a little shady, and most make you wait unti the client pays. We get paid weekly, as the contractor is paid, which is really nice. :)

I asked this question a few weeks ago and Pam turned me onto ECS. They have been really awesome so far.
