"Your gut is always right." ~Sharon Osbourne

"Circle of Competence...," A phrase coined by Warren Buffet in reference to selecting individuals with whom you work. In these times of survival and epoch of creative business, choice selection isn't always easy. The onslaught of so-called available talent (term used loosely) is daunting and also a nice little lie. Not only is the talent stream over-crowded, but "Anybody" and their brother has emerged from the unvarnished woodwork to sell you this or lure you into that. We have learned to dread, "Can I have a moment of your time?"

"Work with people that you like," Buffet suggests. "I tap dance to work because I have surrounded myself with ten or twelve individuals that I genuinely like and I enjoy working with them." Business, today, is not only those you with whom you directly work, but also individuals/firms/companies that seek to do business with you. There are those that choose not rely on their own gut when making decisions or creating relationships. Enough cannot be said about "trusting thyself."

Donald Trump, who consistently lands on his feet, no matter how dire the circumstances might seem, stated, "Experience taught me a few things. One is to listen to your gut, no matter how good something sounds on paper. The second is that you're generally better off sticking with what you know. And the third is that sometimes your best investments are the ones you don't make."

Don't underestimate the power of following your gut, your mind, and your heart. Battles have been waged, fought, and won. Empires have been built. Businesses have succeeded beyond all expectations. This is the triangle of judgment - gut, mind, and heart. Embracing what is possible is as easy as listening and as difficult as action. The degree of difficulty is significantly reduced when self-reliance is gained.
