Feast or famine.  That is how recruiting works.  Either you are so busy that there aren't enough hours in the day, or it is slow. So- What can we learn from this?  When it is "go" time and the requisitions pour in, it is time for recruiters to put it in overdrive. Yes, we can do it.  Just try to tell us it can't be done. It should motivate us even more. The great recruiters are those willing to take on any obstacle, no matter how difficult it is and make it happen.  They will find ways to make the impossible, possible.  They will delegate and prioritize.  Are there good or great recruiters on your team?

Hi Will,

Yes we do encounter such people and most of the times, it is the lead/manager who encourage a recruiter to do some heroics stuff.

Ultimate winner is who ask his manager to assign him something his coworkers has declined to take and get that done.

Hey Sunil-

You are right, the one who raises his hand when everyone else decides not to take on the task is the real winner.  A while back you started a terrific discussion asking why recruiters do what they do.  I think the ones who like challenges when their backs are against the wall are among the most successful in their profession.  Thanks for the comment.

Hi Will,
