My future in recruiting is going after the best talent and reeling them in! I have had a tremendous past year. After being laid off from my company I worked for over 23 years, I decided to take a job with the State in the unemployment/employment side. This job was so good for me in so many ways. In the three short months I worked for them, I saw people with talent and Master’s degrees that were homeless and no way to the help them. Grown men would come into my office and cry begging me to find them work. There were days, many days, I went home so mentally exhausted wishing I could make a difference. I told myself that when I got back into recruiting I was going to be different; I was going to make a difference! I started a new recruiting job in August of this year and I’m doing just that. I believe finding the talent is the easy part…it’s making that talent want you as bad as you want them. My goal is to “sell” my product and the love I have for my company so bad, I can snag that talent like no other. I believe the love you have for your job should come out during that first initial call to that candidate. Who wouldn’t want to come to work for a company that excites its employees like I project my company as doing. I believe in what I do and who I it for. With this economy like it is, more people should have to see the homeless individuals who use to make six figures that can’t even care for their families any longer. I appreciate what has been given to me each day and what I can give to others out there in that situation who are talented but just can’t land that job. I’ve gained a new respect for people and talent as a whole. My future is to continue to find that one of a kind talent at great price and make them smile and feel their excitement when we recruit them to be a part of our team!!
