Now I don't want to jinx myself but I think My Future in Recruiting is looking bright. In my recent past I've been interviewed by Dave Mendoza, seen my name all over the front page of this very site and been invited to present my ideas to people much smarter than myself. Those things definitely give me some credibility that I should be able parlay into a bright future. We'll see.

I've been at the forefront of a few small revolutions in our industry and now I'm on the leading edge of another one. A BIG one. "Social Media." It has become a hot topic in HR and in life in general. It's literally revolutionized the way humans communicate with each other. And, recruiters can totally exploit it and squeeze every last drop out of it.

My future in this new era will be full of helping our fellow recruiting professionals make use of all these new tools. It's going to take a lot of hard work and education. Not only my own, but for those who "aren't quite there yet." They are my favorite. Each day, I'm asked: "How do we get our jobs on Google and Facebook?" or "Can we track Linked In and Twitter job applicants?" YES WE CAN....and, we should have started yesterday!

That's what I think my future in recruiting is. What the future really holds is yet to be seen. But one thing's for sure, I'll be right there in the thick of it. And, I'll have some ideas on how we can make it better.
