I just read that Google is giving the WAVE a proper goodbye. I never jumped on the WAVE bandwagon; I tried it once, it just didn't appeal to me and I could see that in order for it to truly work, work well, that many - a lot - practically everyone had to adopt it and participate, often. That type of participation early on is nearly impossible.

Technology seems to get more complicated by the hour, minute. I love it but it sometimes frazzles my brain with all that I should and want to know. The shoulds don't come close to outweighing the wants. And therein lies my problem. For there aren't enough hours in my days to jam it all in. There aren't enough resources for me to explore that help me in ironing out the wrinkles in my brain where the majority of all this information goes to hide.

I love what I get to do every single day. I love that I touch something new daily - that daily something comes across my desk or my computer that I haven't heard of or that I don't fully understand. And while I am constantly seeking the light on most technologies or concepts that I touch - for that is what drives me - it would be nice if, every once in a while, a light would go off in my head and I could sit back and say, "Oh, I get it." It would be nice.

I will continue to wait for the next wave. Hoping to catch it and ride it to the end. The end being where full understanding takes place. With each new wave comes a new opportunity for growth and an undeniable reward for those willing to risk or follow their gut in the learning storm of each new tech. You gotta love a fast-paced world where one technology overtakes another before full implementation of the first even has a chance.

My inbox will continue to be full of invites to try this or demo that. My brain will be tired every night and I am sure sleep will be filled with visions similar to that of Total Recall or Fahrenheit 451. The future is here. It's now. I am glad to be in the now, just wish I was more firmly planted in the how. Someday.

But I will still always be behind tomorrow.

Never understood Google's Wave product and never "paddled out" to test it either...Enjoyed the article Rayanne and agree with your thoughts completely on this rapidly (understatement) growing/changing tech landscape.
