Pharma-Cruiting Life Sciences Executive is seeking a Director of Human Resources for a pharmaceutical client in Chicago.
Summary:
The Director of Human Resources will have overall responsibility in all HR functional areas, programs and practices such as talent acquisition, on-boarding, talent management, succession planning, performance management, compensation/salary administration, learning and development, employee relations and all HR policies. The incumbent will be a member of the North American leadership team.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the following duties:
- The HR Director will be responsible for creating, developing and executing the human resources’ corporate policies, strategies and initiatives to support the goals and objectives of the company. Ensure that HR policies and procedures are applied.
- Partner with the organization to enhance business results by enabling a positive culture and an increased level of employee engagement.
- Influence change and innovation to advance the business. Work closely with leadership to deliver solutions that meet business needs and drive and sustain change initiatives to improve performance.
- Work with senior management on implementing talent and leadership development initiatives including organizational development and learning needs, performance management, employee and management development, enhanced organization effectiveness and efficiency as well as succession planning. Ensure efforts are synchronized with corporate initiatives.
- Work with HR and management teams to address and investigate employee relations and morale issues and develop action plans to facilitate an open and positive work culture. Offer possible resolution, and provide work related advice, guidance and direction to resolve employee issues.
- Support, drive and implement processes for dealing with performance and disciplinary issues.
- Provide leadership on the performance appraisal and compensation processes.
- Provide guidance and support to HR staff across departments.
- Create ad hoc reports on internal HR metrics for division leadership and timely recommend corrective action if necessary.
Required Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 10 years experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced company with experience managing human resources issues across multiple sites and functions. Previous experience in Pharmaceutical industry is required. Solid knowledge of Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, HR Practices, theories, Federal and State employment law, including, FLSA, FMLA, EEO and current practices and trends. Experience with Six Sigma is a plus. PHR/SPHR preferred. Exceptional Microsoft Office skills.
