I recently read an article here at RecruitingBlogs about an excellent resume writing/editing service which charges around $75.00 per resume.  Can anyone enlighten me or recommend other reputable services that don't cost mega-bucks. thank you!

Marcus - are you asking to find services for your candidates? The answer really depends on many factors; it is hard to just have one "fits all" solution. For example, if I am going to submit a candidate then I work with them on the best way to have their resume ready to present to that client for that job. If I have a person who I am not directly working with to place at the time, then the help I offer is more general, such as the fact that there are a multitude of free resources available. The Internet offers enough free information for most people to be able to create their own resume. If they attended college the placement office usually has help available; there are unemployment offices in most places that offer help; and even non-profit organizations that offer services as well. I don't know which resume services offer what for their fee, but unless they include assistance tailored to every different scenario a candidate will encounter it might be hard for them to get their money's worth.

I like what Amber said..whether one pays five bucks, or one pays a thousand for a resume, if it doesn't convey "you", it's a waste of money..if the writer isn't asking the questions, it's a waste of money.

on a side note...I have been privy to resume "critiques" from career wesbsites like jobfox..you send a resume, and your free critique is nothing but boilerplate that could apply to everyone's resume..of course they can fix it, but it'll cost huge dollars, and they still don't ask any important questions that would make the resume pertinent.

the cost isn't as important as is the ability of the jobseeker and resume writer to understand each other.
