Total Back Office Solutions can give you recruitment agency formation advice

People looking to set up a recruitment agency may be interested in results of a recent study that revealed 45 per cent of employers were finding it hard to fill vacancies.

A Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD)/KPMG Labour Market Survey found that nearly half of the 600 companies questioned were experiencing difficulties getting people into jobs, HR magazine reports.

Migrant workers were being chosen for engineering employment by 21 per cent of businesses and 18 per cent placed them into IT and accounting positions.

Gerwyn Davies, CIPD public policy adviser and author of the report, said it shows the type of complexities the government is facing.

He added: "The proposed introduction of a migration cap comes at a time when many employers are still struggling to fill skilled vacancies; despite the high unemployment rate."

But at the end of last month, the Business Factors Index published by Bibby Financial Services revealed that 72 per cent of small firms were optimistic about trading conditions.
