The biggest HR challenge and talent concern for international companies operating in China is usually the question where to find and how to attract talent. Only about 10% of the University graduates in China meet the requirements of international firms. The biggest mismatch is often related to a lack of practical working experience and a low level of English.
Also in some specialized expert functions such as Research & Development or Quality Management, it is very challenging to find local talent. Besides, there is a lack of qualified senior to top managers. Most of the local executives are rather young and sometimes lack of leadership ability. Besides recruitment related challenges foreign companies are mostly struggling with increasing labor costs and talent retention in China.
We have summarized these top HR challenges in the infographic below. For more details, you can read the full article on our blog: https://www.ginkgosearch.com/top-5-hr-challenges-in-china/
Would you agree on these challenges from your own experience? Did you face similar difficulties in finding and retaining talent in China?
