I need to reach out to other recruiters who may have been in my same situation.  I work as a 3rd party agency recruiter.  My current employer is a franchisee of a large corporation. 

For the past two years I have been the top search recruiter, billing fees in excess of $500K and I am currently at $350K and it is only May.  I am extremely frustrated at the moment as my compensation is capped at a salary plus a graduated commission schedule.  I am ready to go on a full commission basis but the owner of my franchise is not willing to look at that model as in her words "You are the highest paid person in our office!"  I am running a 360 desk so I am selling, managing, sourcing, interviewing, and placing my candidates.

Can anyone help me by helping me determine what a fair commission structure would look like?  I am willing to give up salary, vacation, and benefits for a 50% commission.  Is that unfair?

60% commission is pretty common... which would put you in the $300K range in earnings.  Why not take all the business and work from home, if you can continue the practise?  Or, talk to other firms about bringing the biz to them.  60% to 70% for big billers is not that unusual.

If you were working from home, you could discount fees 5% and still make considerably more.
