Yes, Mother, it's an embedded command.

Daggit! It works -- just made a couple of placements.

Gonna make another one...embedded command that is.

Thanks Ami - for being the guy who finally slapped be back to reality!

I have been thinking lately that there is less and less "useful" stuff to be found out here and that my time should/could/would be better spent practicing my profession.

Have we finally run out? Yes. We have.

This confirms it.
Jerry, I'm not sure if your comment was meant as a compliment or not. I'll assume it was but reply as if it wasn't.

1. While my commentary is tongue-in-cheek the subject matter is relevant. At some level understanding advanced techniques for persuasion should be of concern to anyone "practicing our profession." There is one school of thought that would flatly reject the manipulative techniques of NLP while others may see it has some value. I am not expressing a bias, just begging the question.

2. If you have been thinking that there is less and less "useful" stuff to be found here you might consider the virtue of bringing something to the table to feed those who may be hungry like you. It is easy to overlook the huge amount of valuable stuff posted on RBC when one's attention is given to glass-half-empty analyses. But even "half empty" is enough to quench some poor soul's thirst, no ?

3. "...should/could/would be better spent practicing my profession" What can I say? And to "running out of ideas" - I don't think so.

Like "bringing stuff to the table" we can't always rely on others to have all the ideas. That is why I prefer, when I can, to post something that is thought-provoking. Stirring up the ol' recruiting-weary gray matter has a way of liberating a few good ideas, at least for those open to having them.

And I know it was obtuse, forgive me, but I was hoping my "blank screen" tease in the sidebar today might open the discussion on persuasion to include reverse psychology too. Well that was the *idea*...

The screen is blanked out so that you won't be tempted to watch this video. You'll learn nothing anyway.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment if that's how you meant it and for opening up the dialog, regardless.

Now, back to Mother.

Ami - just to clarify - my comment was directed at the internet as a whole rather than just RBC. In fact I have found more useful stuff here than nearly anywhere when it comes to my day job.

This video (to me at least) is someone struggling to bring something worthwhile to the table - and in my opinion missing the mark. Kinda like every other brilliant blast I see on Twitter.
Got it!
