Recently we've been sourcing WHO'S LEFT in staffing at many of the Fortune 1000s and let me tell you, it's not many!
"We've let everyone in staffing go - the HR Director is handling what needs we have at present."

"Good luck getting someone to answer in HR! You'd be better off calling the CFO's office - he's still here!"

"Peter Simons? He was let go in the first layoff. HR has had three..."

"That office was shut down in November. We have no immediate plans to reopen it."

Gatekeeper: "We're not hiring."
Me: "I know, but can you put me through to anyone in staffing? Anyone?"
Gatekeeper: "There is no one."
Me: "There must be someone - an administrative assistant?"
Gatekeeper: "There is NO ONE in staffing."
Me: "Oh." (At a loss, for the first time.)

"The managers are handling their own hiring. We don't have a staffing group any longer."

Where have they all gone? Are you out there? Let's hear from you! Tell us what happened, when it started happening, what "they" are telling you.

Wait a minute. Managers are back to hiring at their companies? Sounds like salespeople are going to have a field day when the reqs pick back up.
That's great news for me :-)
I knew it wouldn't some of you guys long to see the upside in this!
