How do I love recruiting….let me count the ways…

The reasons, though genuine, seem almost too cliché to be real.  I of course got into recruiting because, like most of us, I love meeting and working with so many different personalities, even (and maybe especially) the challenging ones.  But what has kept me in recruiting is the rush I receive when a match is made!  The energy and excitement that is shared when the right people are put into the right positions can be euphoric and highly addictive! 

I LOVE the fact that while I may not be a revenue generating cost center, I am contributing to my company’s growth and saving them money by ensuring that the right people are hired the first time and training dollars are not being wasted.  However, even more than that…I ADORE the fact that I am changing the life of the person that is hired as well.  In a time of economic instability and unemployment at an all time high, there are so many people who have found themselves out of work and are reaching, or have reached a point of desperation.  By matching someone with an opportunity that is right for them, I am positively affecting their future, as well as the future of the company and that is worth more than I will ever be able to truly express!

What do I love most about recruiting….the fact that I am making a difference, and although it may not be on a global scale, to the new hire who is staring and the manager who just hired a great employee…it means everything!
