Video resumes are growing in popular with time and job candidates find
this a useful method to stand out from the crowd. It is basically an
opportunity for candidates to demonstrate your professional skills and
good communication skills. Recruiters and employers are more likely to
remember what they see than what they read in a text resume. Another
benefit of video resume
is that that they are recorded, and can easily be forwarded to hiring
managers, posted on web sites, or links shared on many social media
sites. Resumes play a vital role in job hunting. Generally, an attractive resume can work magic in opening the door of your expecting company.

You should create a catching resume to best sell yourself. Instead of a traditional paper resume, video resume is a dynamic way to introduce yourself. You should show your skills by making a video resume which is
effective, entertaining and provides a suitable medium for you to show
all that you have in you for that particular position. However a video
resume will not get you your dream job instantly but is a far better
medium that can provide you a chance to impress a recruiter.
If used in the proper way, video resume can proof to be a great tool to
market yourself, otherwise the video resume can also backfire.

Your video resume should be used as a strategic part of your professional profile to help you stand out among candidates, boost your visibility and marketability and provide the employer with an initial
overview of your personality.

The first thing that you should bear in mind when creating a video resume is to find out how you can present yourself on camera. In other words, what do you want employers to take away from your video? You are
in the performing arts; you will probably want to showcase your talent.
If you are in business, you may want to demonstrate your leadership or
speaking skills. If you are an IT professional, you will probably want
to show your soft and technical skill. This is all about showing your skills to the prospective employer.

You can showcase yourself by using the appropriate body Language because a large percentage of human communication is non-verbal, so you have to be careful about what your body language is telling employers
about your skills.

A Video Resume can be unique and professional at the same time, so relax, have some fun and show your personality. You want to project your professionalism and personality with enthusiasm, so smile and deliver
your message with confidence.

Lee: Great post! One signficiant piece to share is that candidates select a site that is professional, standardized and fairly priced. My family has been in search, recruiting and staffing for over 40 years. The traditional paper resume is on it's last legs - within the next 2-3 years it will all be video. Check out TalentRooster.com - you will see it is the only site doing it right. Enjoy your weekend.
Well David thank for the comment, but i want to tell you that I am also in staffing industry over 15 years, and recently launched video resume portal called Mycareeri.com after a succes of mycollegei.com and you are absolutely right within the next 2-3 years it will be the future of video resume rather than standard resume!!
