As the Senior Project Engineer, you will be responsible for developing performance specification and performance calculations for AC Synchronous Generator electrical designs.
You will lead the development of the electrical design, insulation design, manufacturing cost savings, and performance testing of new and remanufactured AC Synchronous Generators
while coordinating resolution of field problems associated with
reliability and performance of AC Synchronous Generators.
You will be working with  Systems Engineering, Drafting, Manufacturing, and Service personnel
Assist in resolution of AC Synchronous Generator manufacturing problems.
It is important that you stay abreast of new technology and competitive products associated with electrical machine designs and actively identify new areas for learning and take
advantage of learning opportunities.

Required Education, Skills and Experience to be considered for this
  • MSEE required with emphasis on Electrical Machine Design and Electrical Power Systems Engineering.
  • 5+ years experience with high voltage generator design
  • Proven success of 10 or more years designing and developing high power three phase AC induction motors, DC motors, or AC synchronous alternators in a
    team environment.
  • Strong knowledge of IEEE standards for testing and rating electrical machines.
  • Knowledge of insulation material dielectric and thermal characteristics currently used in high performance electrical machines.
  • Knowledge of electrical machine design principles including calculation of machine equivalent circuit characteristics, magnetic saturation, electrical
losses, selection of insulation materials, temperature rise of machine
    components, and electrical/mechanical performance calculations.
  • Experience using CAD Engineering Tools or Custom Computer Programs to design, develop, and calculate electrical machine performance.
  • Knowledge of engineering manufacturing methods and production processes used to produce high power electrical machines.
  • High level of oral, written, and interpersonal communications skills.
  • Must be able to travel as needed and be flexible enough to accept special assignments as business needs require.

Additional skills and experience that will give your resume priority consideration:
  • Graduate course work related to the design and control of electrical machines applied to variable speed AC/DC drives.
  • Knowledge on how to optimize machine efficiency considering output rating, physical size, and material costs.
  • Knowledge on how power electronic converter or inverter supplied power source affects the design and performance of an electrical machine.
  • Experienced using MATLAB for calculating electrical machine, power system, power electronic converter/machine, or power electronic inverter/machine
  • Experience in design and development of electrical machines for locomotive or transit AC/DC traction drives.
