Job Description | The General Manager/Country Director is a leadership role that works directly with the P&L leaders for the Global Platforms, Industry Business Unit leaders and Global Products leaders to execute the strategy and ensure smooth and efficient operations and support. This role has full administrative and statutory responsibility for the business and people operating in Brazil. This includes planning, directing and coordinating the business activities, leveraging existing opportunities and implementing business strategies. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating the company's strategic goals in Brazil and aligning the organization for attainment of those goals as well as coordinating with various Regional and Global teams to drive the business and gain market share. The General Manager/Country Director is expected to lead by example as well as delegate and empower staff members. He/she holds team members accountable for their areas of responsibility and stays informed in all areas of day-to-day operations. Reviews progress against the Business Plan, determines problems and suggests and implements solutions. |
Skill Required | -Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Economics, or related field and at least 10 years Business Management experience, or in a related area. MBA a plus. -Must have a solid understanding of the Industrial markets in Brazil. -Proven ability to run a commercial business in an industrial market. -Understanding of finances (Bookings, Sales, COGS, Profit Margins, Expense Control, GOI, Inventory Control, AR/AP and Cash Flow) in a small to medium size company is a requirement. -Must have proven leadership performance of a large group of people; be able to cope with demand on time and associated stress. -Must be fluent in Portuguese and English (Read Write, Speak). -Experience working in a highly matrix based organization is a plus. |
