Expectations about graduate job opportunities are low among those leaving university in 2010.

Recruiters looking to outsource back office services to an agency may be interested to hear that expectations about graduate job opportunities are low among those leaving university in 2010.

A study of 16,000 final year students by graduate market research company High Fliers Research revealed that just 36 per cent of those finishing undergraduate study this summer expect to get a job.

Confidence in the graduate employment market is now at its lowest for fifteen years. The market will be even more difficult for 2010 graduates as this year's entry-level vacancies will be filled by those who failed to secure jobs last year.

Martin Birchall, managing director of High Fliers Research, commented that a record number of students is due to complete degrees in the coming weeks.

"[With] tens of thousands of last year's graduates still looking for work, there is widespread concern on campus that competition for graduate jobs has never been fiercer," he said.

Recruiters who outsource back office services can free up valuable time to focus on building their business.
