A staff backlash against ongoing pay and recruitment freezes could create more opportunities for recruiters.

Recruiters looking to outsource back office solutions to an agency could benefit from increased business thanks to a staff backlash against ongoing pay and recruitment freezes, it has been stated.

Around one in four employees are planning on leaving their company in the next year, according to research by GfK NOP, which revealed that 13 per cent of more than 4,000 polled employees intend to leave as soon as possible.

Discontent among staff is not only being caused by pay and recruitment freezes, but also by a re-organisation of company structures and continuing restrictions on training programmes.

Sukhi Ghataore, employee engagement specialist at GfK NOP, warned that "high attrition rates can be disastrous for any business, contributing to disengaged staff as well as higher operating and recruitment costs".

He added that in spite of genuine reasons behind salary freezes and other measures, "securing the future success of the business is vital, but key to this must be ensuring the workforce is motivated and engaged".

Outsourcing accounts can help recruitment business start-ups to free up valuable time.
