People who have set up a recruitment can expand their operations through platforms such as social media forums.

People who have set up a recruitment company can outsource managed payroll services in order to free up some valuable time to focus on expanding their operations through platforms such as social media forums.

However, those utilising social networking sites should take a long-term approach if they wish to see any success, according to one industry insider, reports Recruiter.

Richard Sutcliffe, who launched Tweetjobs last autumn, told the publication that recruiters should avoid the temptation of using social media platforms to "pump out jobs" and hope for the best.

"There are a lot of people who are looking to dip their toes into social media, but they don't know how to do it," explained the recruiter, who recommended ensuring the jobs are relevant to the candidate.

He went on to state that recruiters should also have patience as social media success can take as long as nine months and they should also be prepared to invest adequately.

Recruiters can also make new contacts by contributing to discussions on forums such as business peer-to-peer site LinkedIn.
