People who have set up a recruitment company may want to consider writing a regular blog if they do not have a website in order to promote their business and maintain an online presence.

Digital marketing expert Navigate Consulting has advised small businesses to set up a blog because it "can be quickly and easily updated without the need for great expertise".

According to company founder Nick Baggott, the easy to manage nature of the online communication forums would suit small businesses without the resources to operate a full website.

He explained that blogging is good for reputation management because it is about "thought leadership and sharing opinions and a much more personalised view of things, whereas your site is about promoting your business and your services".

It is also advisable to update blogs regularly, although only "engaging content" should be uploaded weblogs, which are free of charge.

Recruiters could also benefit from outsourcing back office solutions to an agency.
