Employer branding is rising according to a new study, which may be of interest to those intending to set up a recruitment agency.

The study, conducted by People in Business, found that an increasing amount of companies are focusing on employer branding, as well as a rise in specialist managers being hired to manage such projects.

Of the 104 national and international companies surveyed, 60 per cent of respondents cited the increase in suitable candidates as the main benefit of employer branding schemes.

In the last for years, such projects being led by specialist managers has risen from ten per cent to 28 per cent.

Director of People in Business Sophy Pern said: "Developing and harnessing the power of the employer brand helps bring focus to people management and this is enabling companies to get more with less, adding to both growth and profitability."

Alex Pratt, entrepreneur and author of Austerity Business: 39 Tips for Doing More with Less, recently stressed the importance of managers paying close attention to their relationships with staff in the current climate.
