I have a question, how do you break the news to the overqualified candidates that the position they have applied for is a couple of position below their previous position. For example- if you have a branch sales manager position available but your candidate is a VP of Sales. One of my friend said that the candidate thought he was perfect but the client wasn't interested. The candidate must be able to convey that he really wanted to scale back his career otherwise the client may think that the next position that is at a VP level, the candidate may jump ship? What are your thoughts?
