Hello ~

I am just your friendly Headhunter for Recruiters. I am always open to chatting with Recruiters about their career path and what they can except as the market turns.

Please feel free to send me an invite so when you need anything you have my information at your finger tips.

Cheers,
Rebecca B. Sargeant

Hi! My name is Christina and this year I will receive bachelor's degree in
Teaching and Interpreting. I am fluent in English, German, Spanish and Russian. I am interested in recruiting and I would like to work in this field. To get more experience I would like to apply for internship in a recruiting company. The best place for me is Virginia, though any other state is also fine. Does anybody have information about recruiting companies that will agree to accept a student for the internship during summer-fall? I will appreciate any help and advice! Thank you!

"If Recruiting Was That EASY, Everyone Would Do It" What person is best at recruiting, I guess we all can be, if we put our minds, compassion, professionalism and persistence to it. Myself, I enjoy the challenge of the entire recruiting and sourcing process, I enjoy sharing new tools, emerging technologies, better and faster ways to do the job, and everything else that makes up our jobs. Debbie,
I may be old-fashioned, but the way I was trained was that you don't try to get clients right away. I didn't even make my first client call until I was six months in. I spent my first six months learning how to cold call recruit candidates and get referrals and work on my colleagues openings so I could learn about what I was doing. At the six month mark I felt like I knew enough to try and get and work with a client.

When I made my first client call, it was chasing an app lead. I would ask every candidate where they had interviewed and if it was thru an agency. As long as they weren't interested in the job, I would then chase after it. One of my colleagues told me exactly what to do, and shaking with nerves, I picked up the phone and called to get the job order...and then was completely shocked when I got it...had to put her on hold for a minute to then ask my colleague what to do now that they said yes!

So, it's not about how many calls....it's about the quality of the calls. The easiest way to get an order is to call on applicant leads, then jobs you see listed....where you know there's an opening, and call with a candidate that could be a fit.
