As an Olympic sports enthusiast and active competitive T&F athlete (when time allows) I invite other interested members of the RBC to join me in following and commenting on the 2012 London Olympic Games.
In London over the next seventeen days some 10,000 of the world's best athletes, from over 200 nations, have qualified and are assembled to compete across approx. 300 events in the world's largest and most prestigious sporting event--the Olympic Games.
It should be exciting to see some world records fall and enjoy great team competitions in a variety of venues. Basketball for the U.S. is not necessarily a given anymore and T&F, Soccer, Swimming and Gymnastics are all up for grabs.
BTW—the metaphor of sports competition, as it relates to recruitment, exists on many levels. I invite you to explore the subjects and make your own observations and comparisons based on personal and observed experiences.
I look forward to your participation. …

big night, you’d think Santa’s reindeer would be resting up. But, that’s not the case. Santa’s four-legged friends are in full-on training mode and took to the track to race in a Reindeer Derby outside of London this weekend.
Santa’s transportation team participated in the first annual William Hill Reindeer Derby on Dec. 16, as part of the annual Winter Festival in Kempton Park. A bystander told the Daily Mail the reindeer were so fast it appeared they were “flying.”
In the Christmas spirit, Santa took time out of his hectic schedule to oversee the race and cheer on his faithful fleet.
Fan favorite Rudolph sat out of the games this year, citing a red nose. It was a heated race but victory belonged to Dasher, who won a trophy filled with carrots to eat on Christmas morning.
Why is it you feel a need to control an HR person? What about controlling an HR person allows you to be a strategic partner with the HR person's organization? IF they look up, down, or side to side at you, your credibility and expertise are discounted the moment you attempt to control a business partner - regardless of what functional area that person works in (HR, Finance, Marketing, etc). Your post is pretty indicative of the games you play. I have news for you, companies aren't into playing games and wasting time with these games. Have a bit more respect for your profession, and for the people you partner with (which includes your candidates). If a recruiter gave me a "script" on how to answer a question I would be highly offended! I imagine I am not the only one....…
