Good morning,
TGIF! It's been
an incredible week here on RecruitingBlogs. We've had some incredible posts, some great webinars, some awesome sponsors have signed on for RecruitFest! and it seems like full steam ahead.
Check out today's featured posts:
Internships: The Good, the Bad and the (not so) UGLY by Katie Meeks. Somewhere in between cramming for finals and moving out of their dorms for the summer, college students find the time to search for a summer internship. As a former multiple-time intern-er and a current intern coordinator, I thought it might be a good idea to make this post two-fold: 1st part for potential interns and 2nd part for potential organizations looking to recruit interns.
Can't Talk NOW, Too Busy Building MY Brand by Omowale Casselle. The opportunities to engage and interact are two of the most often communicated benefits of using social media. While these benefits sound good in theory, I'm not sure that most users are doing a good job of taking seriously their individual responsibility to ensure these benefits are realized. Often times, people who are active on social media and social networks are too busy building their own personal brand to be bothered with 2-way conversation.
Decision making and traditional HR by Kim Bechtel. Anyone who has read Blink by Malcolm Gladwell knows that what we think we know about how good decisions are made is mostly wrong. For most of the past sixty or so years the 'scientific' method has been in vogue with accountants, CFO's, purchasing departments and strategic planners (and, you guessed it, HR). Want to make a good decsion?
Have a great Friday. Tonight we'll be at the
