Welcome to my first blog entry. Had many topics to choose from but I will start with a very common question I get asked. - "How does Twitter work for recruitment?"
After reading a number of blogs and posts, these are the main reasons why Twitter is a viable resourcing channel in my opinion.
It should be use in conjuction with existing routes and other social networks.
One would be visually short sighted to not see that many social networks and blogs are linked by Twitter (I will elaborate further on this suject of social media integration)
As the war for talent gathers pace, as economies pick up, the need to reduce the cost and time to hire will increase.
Referencing and nurturing ones own talent pool will become a full time job, especially for large volume recruiters due to business requirements and churn.
If used to its full potential, Twitter can be a great asset, some individuals have gone so far to mention that your Twitter account should be seen as a brand extension and not just a simple resourcing tool. If so, Twitter is already showing why it should be taken seriously.
The main reason is that Twitter can be many things very quickly, giving it immediacy and relevance.
10 Benefits of using Twitter for Recruitment
- (Power of Twitter)
- Post hot jobs, or latest job links on twitter back to the employer's or agency's website

These 10 short points should give recruiters a point a reference to guide them in getting the most from Twitter.
