4 Ways to Continue Your Education as an Insurance Professional

So you're an excellent insurance professional. You have done your licensing and earned the credentials necessary in order to perform your job to the best of your ability. Well, there's still room for improvement isn't there? The insurance industry is constantly changing and if you continue your education throughout your career, you are likely to be more successful. Here are four ways to further your education as an insurance professional.

Get a New License as Title Agent

This is a license that you can add to your insurance roster that will bring you a lot of business. With this license, you can sell insurance to insure the title for a home. You can also use this insurance license to insure the title for a car. You can gain New York insurance CE credits from a local educational institution. In order to gain this license, you must have worked for a title insurance agent for a year or more or complete a 40-hour classroom course.

Gain a Credit Insurance License

Did you know that you can actually insure a credit line? Well, you can. The credit insurance license allows you to provide insurance for your customers' credit lines, including car loans and home loans. You must either be employed as a health insurance agent or as an employee of a creditor institution, like a credit union or bank.

Earn Travel Agent Insurance Licensure

People want their travel to be insured just in case there are any changes to their plans due to inclement weather or unexpected changes. If you already work as an insurance agent, you can get a license in travel insurance, too. This is an excellent choice as travel will become very popular with the lifting of COVID-19 travel bans.

Get an Independent Adjuster License

You may also gain the credential of becoming an independent insurance adjuster. This will mean that you assess insurance claims for validity and value of settlement offered. This is an excellent credential to gain if you have already worked in the insurance industry for many years and are familiar with its inner workings.

The insurance industry is an excellent field, which offers many options for advancing your career. If you already work as an insurance professional, you can continue your education by gaining a license as a title agent, credit insurance professional, travel agent or independent insurance adjuster. Gaining licensure in any of these fields will be sure to add to your repertoire as an insurance agent. You will be able to cater to a broader category of customers.
