You’ve bought a new suit for your interview and you’ve practiced your answers to possible interview questions, but that isn’t where the preparation ends.
You might want to also practice your speaking abilities so you can leave a great and lasting impression.
I’m not talking about learning and using big, elaborate, “10-cent” words, but rather following some basic rules of speech:
* SLOW DOWN
* BE CONFIDENT IN WHAT YOU ARE SAYING
* AVOID FILLER WORDS (I.E. “UMM” “AHH” “LIKE” “YOU KNOW”)
* PAY ATTENTION TO PRONUNCIATION AND GRAMMAR
The key point to remember is to slow down and think about the question again before giving an answer. I also suggest trying to limit each answer to no more than 2 minutes in length to help protect you from drifting off into tangents.
