Just wanted to pass on a story. Mid last month I get a call from one of the recruiters I work with. She asks me to contact a doctor she has coming to the Dallas area, and lets me know they have been trying to get ahold of another Realtor and this other Realtor wasnt calling them back. I quickly called them, and within a couple of hours had them set up on searches in the areas they wanted, and was planning a community tour the following Saturday. Well, they showed up in town, I spent almost 9 hours, toured 22 homes and took them to dinner. I received a call from them on Monday evening thanking me for my time, and was informed that her interviews went well and they decided they wanted to move to area by July 31st so they needed to come back ASAP and make some plans. I talked to them Wendesday and started to set up a return visit the following Saturday. All is well!! Well, Friday afternoon - 6pm - I get a call from the husband and he tells me he wont be able to meet me in the morning. I ask him if all is ok? He says "yes, we just cant meet you". I ask if we need to reschedule, he says no. I ask if it was something I did, and he tells me the other other Realtor had finally called him back and because this was a friend of a friend(who he has never met I might add) he already scheduled to meet him on Saturday. I tell him Im not complaining, but, I have time and money invested with him and his wife. Wouldnt it be easier to cancel with someone you have never met than someone who has taken care of you already and you have gotten to know?
He gives me a one word responce......sorry. To make a long story short, I swallow my pride and say, "well, if this other gentleman doesant work out, let me know, I would be happy to help".

I then call the recruiter and tell her what happened, she understood and said maybe it will come back. So, the very next day I get an email from the recruiter, it was a forwarded message from the doctor she was trying to bring here. It stated, the other reason they wanted to move here was because her husband was buying a business here in north Texas, he had already quit his job up north and was waiting for this deal to go through. His business deal had completly fallen apart and they would not be moving to the area, and now she has to work harder because her husband had quit his job and was unemployeed.
Kharma!!!

I trully believe if you treat people with the respect you would want to be treated with, it is returned. Anyway, I get a call from another recruiter 15 minutes after I get this email, and he informs me a doctor I took out last December that originally decided to move to San Antonio, has changed her mind and is coming here instead. Kharma!!

I lose this guy because he has no respect for other peoples time or efforts, he is now unemployeed and cant move and I get another client back that I thought I lost. And by the way, is buying a home worth three time the cost. Kharma!!!

No matter what the situation, treat clients the way you would want to be treated and it all comes around.
