60 seconds to a better college graduate?

?What don't they teach students in college? Apparently, a lot of things that businesses want.

When you interview graduates, do you long for technical skills or pine for interpersonal abilities? Or do you want both?

Take a minute (literally!) and share your knowledge.

For me, it depends on the req. In general, I lean towards candidates with a few key things..

A.) Someone who has listed internships or some volunteer work in the field of interest. (They have spent some time getting hands on experience, even if entry level)

B.) Some heart and drive with humility mixed in. The best hires have been those who see 50k is not going to happen in their first job, however they look for the upward mobility to do so and will work hard at no matter the mundane position to get to that point. I would put more time into molding a candidate that has that then someone who thinks paper means superiority. I would rather hire a someone that did not complete college and will work ten times harder.
