Hi! I'm currently recruiting for a Distribution Analyst in the Atlanta area. We are looking for someone with a background in the printing industry optimizing distribution and improving revenues for print products (magazines, newspapers). The search is proving to be a difficult one. I would love any insight or information from recruiters who have worked on this type of position before. Any help would be much appreciated!! Job description is as follows:
AutoTrader.com / AutoTrader Classics division is seeking a Distribution Analyst with at least 5 years of successful magazine experience supporting print distribution and circulation business. Candidate must have the proven ability to assist in identifying opportunities to optimize distribution and improve revenues based on objective analysis of a variety of distribution channels (i.e. Affiliate, wholesale, subscription). Role will include guidance of the distribution of 9 print products in the AutoTrader Publishing distribution network (72 markets and 90,000 outlets) including close interaction with the AutoTrader Publishing team in Norfolk, VA. Candidate must have superior analytical skills and ability to prepare executive level reporting and presentations.
RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to):
• Assist with creating an overall distribution strategy including 9 print products (Old Car Trader, Mustang & Ford Trader, Corvette and Chevy Trader, Milestone Series, Deals on Wheels, Truck Marketplace, Specialty Marketplace and Collector Car Price Guide) and additional titles planned to launch in 2009.
• Perform operational metric analysis of all titles by market to optimize yield management program (sales expansion with efficiency) and meet revenue goals.
• Work with Regional Circulation Managers to make recommendations to improve distribution through the AutoTrader Publishing (ATP) affiliate network.
• Create and coordinate operating circulation forecasts with financial projections.
• Assist in increase wholesale distribution through national magazine distributor through addition of new retail outlets including promotions.
• Assist in increasing distribution through subscription fulfillment.
• Assist in development and management of a sales incentive program through the ATP affiliate network
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelors degree in business or equivalent experience with a consumer print publisher
• Superior analytical skills to interpret large amounts of data
• Proficiency in MS Excel (intermediate to advanced) including formulas, financial, functions, pivot tables, v-lookups.
• Ability to achieve success in a fast paced, evolving work environment
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills
