We're always looking for ways to demonstrate the positive power of social media. And this time we found it on BlogCatalog.com. BlogCatalog members have designated Sept. 27 as Blog Against Abuse. While the topic is wide open, we were really taken by the idea. Enough so that I e-mailed the Antony Berkman, president of BlogCatalog, to see if we could go beyond our usual support of his social awareness campaigns and run a contest in support of his campaign. His response: how can we help? So that is what Copywrite, Ink. and BlogCatalog is doing. Anyone who posts against abuse on Sept. 27 can enter our Blog For Hope Post Competition on Oct. 10. The winner receives $250 (U.S.) donated to a recognized charity of your choice in your name along with other prizes and ample recognition. There are also prizes for runners up. Check it out for yourself. And even if you decide not to enter, there is still ample reason to join what could very well be the biggest anti-abuse mass posting in the history of the Internet.
