"Run For The Fallen" - Can You Run 1-Mile To Commemorate Our Fallen?

I was thinking that perhaps asking anyone here who reads my sporadic posts may be off-topic, but then, it's a social network . . . so why not. :)

Every once in a while, we have a chance to take part in something much bigger than ourselves. Here's that chance.

4690 U.S. military members have died in Iraq and Afghanistan, and you can run 1-mile to commemorate our Fallen. Here are some details - I can't think of too many other honorable things we could run 1-mille for on 8/24 :)

The website can be found here, the blog here, and HERE is the current route map, showing the entire run across the country. Below is how you can participate:

"One, join us for one or more miles on any day of our run, anywhere along our route. You can run, walk or bike with us, by yourself, or with other friends and family if you prefer.

Two, Run for the Fallen wherever you are on Sunday August 24th. Let us know who will be running, your distance, and if you run in honor of any particular soldier. We'll be posting America's combined mileage on the website and the blog. It is on this day that we run to honor all service members killed in both Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Download a flyer about the August 24th run."

Please let me know if you're interested because I'll let the team know of all the recruiters supporting them :)
