“To be honest, my face is in no book, I have no space, I’m neither linked in, nor linked out. I just don’t have any interest in social networking. But this person will be making a decision as to whether or not my resume should be forwarded to a hiring manager. Help!!”

I'm always wondering how many recruiters speak to their employees and candidates about job search. Pretty sure if they did, these recruiters might just change some of their policies, processes, and procedures.

Wow...was that a can 'o worms! Steve - thanks for pointing us to that post. I'm not sure I've ever done what was noted (by the recruiter) in the post. But it's good to hear the community feedback as I want to make sure I don't accidentally make the same mistake.

BTW...if I had been the candidate I think I would have been tempted to say...."very strange, each time I try to accept your invitation, it logs me out of the application...hmmm."

Geek weenies are just different...

One thing I'm doing this fall is giving my LIdotNetUserGroup (www.lidotnetusersgroup.com) a talk on recruiters. Since I'm the co-Founder of this group and an engineer (not former - no former Marines or Jesuits either), I know the people and my goal is to help them understand the minds of recruiters (nice can of worms, right?).

I always encourage my recruiter friends to do the same with associations in their area...
