Motivating staff when times are "mildly annoying"

So not to be one to dwell on the so called "down turn" but staff are obviously getting slightly fed up with the doom and gloom, jobs are not as thick and fast as normal which has a knock on effect with team morale.

Any suggestions on keeping spirits up!!!

First is engaging every employing into the fabric of the business: Finance training for ALL employees; operational improvement training so ALL employees can impact any business process with their suggestions; recruiter training for ALL employees so anyone can be a talent scout for the company.

I have always taken the "reward the results you want" approach to helping your team keep their eye on the ball. We are in the sales field - so how about a little extra at the finish line - wherever that might be - for those who keep their focus?
