New to this blogging phenomena....but I won't have a problem when I get going, hence my profile photo of a rabbit, as in rabbitrabbit etc.. as I like a good natter. Oh dear that's corny.

So here goes...

Right now I am taking the week off and am between employers so strange as I venture out and join the herds of the unemployed, students and housewives.

Focusing on clearing my mind and mentally switching over to new employer...name will remain confidential ofcourse. However, I can say I'll be focusing within a mid-senior level retained market in RPO, single search and project recruitment.

Had my exit interview yesterday with now "old" employer; really had no issues with them as a company or problems with colleagues or my boss, this new opportunity flew into my lap, most kindly thrown there by a good friend.

One thing I could ask you bloggers.....any good reading material for making the switch from contingency to retained/executive recruitment? Have an audio tape from Bill Radin on it's way but if anyone else can throw in suggestion would be muchos-appreciated.

Ta Ta for now.

about 7 years ago I bought a great read from the kimberly organization which is part of the Fordyce Letter. It was about exactly what you are looking for. Essentially, the thing that stcuk with me the most about it was that you need to be prepared to kiss all your clients goodbye and start looking for new ones. if you click here http://www.fordyceletter.com/reports.asp it is report number 12. It is not cheap but it was very good.
