A New Trend for Savvy Job Seekers (Targeted ads towards on Social Networks)

While on Facebook I noticed an ad to the Left hand side which connected to a recent graduate from University of South Florida with a Masters degree in Engineering Management. I clicked on the ad which took me to the following resume

Which also included links to his Linked In Profile.
I am not currently recruiting for engineering roles but I contacted him. He said that he is getting responses and spends about $5 per day.

In a terrible job market especially new grads he is using inexpensive direct advertising to reach his target market (recruiters) and stand out from the crowd. He also has clearly shown that he thinks out of the box.

With the traditional job boards (Monster, Careerbuilder, HotJobs etc) offering Premium placement but you are still limited by those that have access.

Using Facebook Ads or Ad Words is a great way for job seekers to grab the attention of recruiters and make the right connection.
