Last week I wrote an entry about using Twitter and Facebook with Tiny URL to use your status to promote anything from your resume to job postings to events.

It turns out there is a short cut using Firefox
First off, you should be using Firefox as they are many extensions and tools that are helpful with recruiting and sourcing.

The useful add on is called TinyURL creator and you get it by going to
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/126

Once you install it, then you will need to restart your browser.

Open a tab with whatever you want to put in your status.
Hit the tools menu and drag down to TinyURL Creator and this case choose "From Current URL"
The current URL is then saved to your Clipboard.

When updating your Twitter status (however you do it) simply paste the Tiny URL.

So instead of saying, I am looking for a software engineer or a job your reader can simply click on the link.
